Black Hearts , season 2 (Prime Video), finds the 45th Commando of the French Special Forces fighting against Daesh in Iraq. The series, created by Duong Dang-Thai and Corinne Garfin with military advisors, and directed by Frédéric Jardin, shows with edgy realism the lives of elite soldiers in operations.
A soldier from Group 45, a French special forces commando deployed in Iraq, has been taken hostage by Daesh. The operation, which resulted in the capture of Corporal Besson, played by Nina Meurisse, concluded the first season of Black Hearts with a tense climax. The sequel focuses on the operations aimed at freeing her, which the DGSE has taken over, and the appalling treatment of the captive and another hostage, a CIA agent, by Daesh's torturers.
